Process Water (Cooling Water) Reverse Osmosis System

A project was designed and implemented for the installation of a water treatment system that would meet the process water requirements for cooling towers at a company in Trabzon/Arsin, which produces polyurethane exterior cladding.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The analysis results of the water sample taken from the well were determined to be +1000 µS conductivity and 400 ppm alkalinity. To address this significantly higher ratio compared to the cooling water standards, it was decided to install a reverse osmosis system.

In the pre-filtration stage, the water passed through a sand filter to prevent membrane pore clogging and for the removal of Ca and Mg ions, it was softened. The water, with its hardness reduced to zero, was then passed through an ultraviolet sterilization system as a precautionary measure. Finally, the water transferred to the reverse osmosis system had its conductivity reduced to the range of 15-20 µS.

The entire project, including design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, measurements, and preparation for final use, was completed in 14 working days.
