NİĞDE PRISON
Arsenic Treatment System
A 10 liters per second capacity arsenic treatment system was designed and implemented for the Niğde Open Penal Institution, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Justice.
TEKNİK BİLGİLER
To remove the turbidity caused by seasonal rainfall in the surface water-derived raw water, a sand filter system was installed. A softening system that operates continuously for 24 hours was set up to reduce the hardness level from 23 Fr degrees to 0 Fr degrees. Additionally, a carbon filter system was installed for the removal of taste, odor, and organic matter.
To prevent microbial growth in the stored treated water, final chlorination was done to adjust the chlorine level to 0.5 ppm. To control the raw water in case of operational difficulties and chlorine dosing system failures, an ultraviolet disinfection system was installed in the post-tank building pressure line.
The dismantling of the old system and installation of the new system, along with the verification of analysis data according to TS266 Drinking and Utility Water Standards, was completed within a total of 4 days.
